The entire Star Wars fanbase has bestowed all its attention to the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, slated for the May 27th premiere. Fans have been yearning for this show for a long time. A survey conducted by The Hollywood Reporter in 2016 revealed that people strongly believed that Obi-Wan deserved a spin-off film. However, the awful box office performance of Solo: A Star Wars Story ended almost everything for the franchise’s Anthology film series. However, star Ewan McGregor entered negotiations with Lucasfilm to reprise his iconic role in a Disney+ series in 2019. All these facts reflect fans’ love for McGregor’s Kenobi. But there is one more SW entry that may emerge as a dark horse during its run. We are talking about Diego Luna‘s Star Wars: Andor show.
The forthcoming Andor series will serve as a prequel to the events of Rogue One (2016). And a recent report from Besputin Bulletin has revealed that Lucasfilm has planned to host a panel with the production teams of all three 2022 SW shows. This panel will take place during Star Wars Celebration 2022 from May 26th to 29th. Makers can disclose the release date for the Andor series’ trailer here.
Luna will reprise his role as Cassian Andor in the series. The plot revolves around the initial stage of the Rebellion and five years before the events of Rogue One. Fans will witness how the leading character became one of the best spies for the Rebellion.
Apart from Diego Luna, stars like Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly. Forest Whitaker will also make a cameo appearance in his role of Saw Gerrera. Stay tuned for more updates.
