Long in the making, and much anticipated series ‘Ahsoka’ finally has a confirmed release date on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar in India. The series premieres worldwide on the respective platforms on 23rd August, 2023. In India, ‘Ahsoka’ will be available to watch on Disney Plus Hotstar in the original English language, along with a Hindi dubbed version. Unfortunately, there will be no Tamil, Telugu or other Indian languages dubs for ‘Ahsoka’.
The series is set in the Star Wars universe, and is a standalone series, featuring the popular character of Ahsoka Tano, seen recently in The Mandalorian series on Disney Plus. ‘Ahsoka’ is a spinoff of sorts of ‘The Mandalorian’ and takes place in the same timeframe as that series. Actress Rosario Dawson returns to reprise her role of Ahsoka. She was first seen in the role in The Mandalorian Season 2 and its spinoff, ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’.
‘Ahsoka’ is a limited series, developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for Disney Plus. The series follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Besides Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Hayden Christensen, Eman Esfandi, Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Genevieve O’Reilly, Diana Lee Inosanto, and Lars Mikkelsen, among others. Mikkelsen is portraying Grand Admiral Thrawn in Ahsoka.
Disney Plus has just released a brand new teaser for Ahsoka, which gives us our first glimpse at Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. We also get a look at Sabine Wren in action, wielding Ezra Bridger’s lightsaber.
