Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Adds The Green Knight Helmer David Lowery

It seems like every A24 director wants to go to a galaxy far, far away! David Lowery has joined the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew crew, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Lowery is not the only A24 filmmaker to become a part of the Star Wars franchise. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert helmed one episode of Skeleton Crew earlier this month. Kwan even confirmed this news on his Instagram account. The directing duo, popularly known as The Daniels, is best known for helming the Academy Award-winning film, Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ is set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. Jude Law became the first actor to join the series. His addition to the cast was announced at last year’s Star Wars celebration event. The show’s working title was Grammar Rodeo.

The upcoming Star Wars instalment has been described as “a galactic version of classic coming-of-age adventure projects of the 80s”, inspired by The Goonies (1985).

The duo of Jon Watts and Jon Favreau is responsible for developing ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’. They conceived the show on the sets of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2020. Both will serve as the series’ executive producers, including Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Christopher Ford. The show is set to release this year. Stay tuned for more updates.
