‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Cast Revealed, Filming Commences

The Force has awakened! The official Twitter page of Star Wars has confirmed that the production of ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ is well underway. Additionally, the show’s core cast has been revealed.

The Acolyte’s plot revolves around a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to look into a series of crimes. But things get out of hand when the duo realises that the forces they are confronting are more sinister than they ever anticipated. The showrunners have described the upcoming Star Wars instalment as “a mystery thriller”.

Lucasfilm has revealed the show’s cast. It treasures talents like Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones), Charlie Barnett (Tales of the City), and Carrie Anne-Moss (The Matrix series).

Leslye Headland serves as the show’s creator and one of the executive producers. She is prominent for creating Netflix’s ‘Russian Doll’ series, with Amy Poehler and Natasha Lyonne. Plus, she has helmed The Acolyte’s pilot episode.

Star Wars: The Acolyte will stream exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform. Indian viewers can watch it on Disney+ Hotstar. According to some reports, it may release in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
