Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Looks Better Than Season 1

Season 2 of ‘Star Wars: Visions’ is set to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service on May 4. The first season gained worldwide prominence due to its immersive surroundings, compelling storylines, and visually stunning animations. And it seems like Season 2 will outperform the first entry in many ways.

Lucasfilm’s goal was to bring more creativity and uniqueness into the world of Star Wars with ‘Visions’, giving the creators of different animation studios complete control over their process of re-envisioning the ideas related to the space opera franchise as they saw fit. Of course, Lucasfilm bestowed all the necessary support and guidance to the chosen animation studios in this process.

Season 1 focused primarily on the Japanese animation style. All nine short films were produced by prominent Japanese animation studios, such as Science SARU, Trigger, Production I. G., Geno Studio, Studio Colorido, Kamikaze Douga, and Kinema Citrus.

Visions Season 2 will be better than the first one as the show has widened the net. Here’s the list of animation studios that have contributed to the upcoming sophomore instalment:

Cartoon Saloon (Ireland)
El Guiri (Spain)
Studio Mir (South Korea)
Aardman (United Kingdom)
Punkrobot (Chile)
Studio La Cachette (France)
D’art Shtajio (Japan), along with Lucasfilm
Triggerfish (South Africa)
88 Pictures (India)

This extended group of studios will allow ‘Visions’ and the rest of the Star Wars franchise to expand their global reach. All these animation studios will add their unique artistic styles to the show, making Season 2 more diverse regarding characters, plots, and visuals. Viewers may even witness better storytelling in Season 2 due to added richness and depth. Overall, the upcoming season will be an amalgam of different cultural perspectives and references, expanding the Star Wars universe beyond our imagination.

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 will release on May 4 on Disney+ Hotstar for Indian viewers. Stay tuned for more updates.
