Stephen Amell’s Heels Will Stream On Netflix On This Date

Michael Waldron’s critically acclaimed but highly underrated pro-wrestling drama series, Heels, is set to arrive on Netflix soon. Led by Stephen Amell, the series will come out on the streaming platform on July 29, 2024, as per PWInsider. Netflix has yet to confirm this news.

The first two seasons of Heels premiered on Starz on August 15, 2021, and July 28, 2023, respectively. Both seasons have received critical acclaim, scoring ‘fresh’ scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 1 has an RT score of 96% based on 26 reviews, whereas the sophomore entry stands with a 90% critic score, based on 10 reviews.

The series revolves around two brothers who are also professional wrestlers, Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig). Jack plays a heel (villainous character in pro wrestling), while his brother Ace portrays a face (heroic figure in pro wrestling). They play out scripted matches and work together to promote their late father’s pro wrestling promotion in the small town of Georgia.

In April, Netflix acquired the non-exclusive rights to the series. In addition, the company showed interest in renewing the show for a third season. However, the series has to bring enough viewership on Netflix to justify the revival. Let’s see what happens!

Apart from Amell and Ludwig, Heels stars Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison, Chris Bauer, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
