If you remember the one episode from Brooklyn Nine-Nine featuring Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher (may his soul rest in peace) and their episode on the interrogation of an intelligent dentist, you might recognize his face.
Sterling K. Brown is one of the most beloved men in the industry and he could be a saving grace for DC’s most cursed role.
Even a star as entertaining as Ryan Reynolds didn’t manage to save the sinking ship of Green Lantern. Though fans saw glimpses of it in the Snyder Cut, it played a massive role in the animated universe. As DC is building its universe from scratch, Brown might be a good fit.
And as things stand, he also might be interested. Especially amidst the appearance of Lanterns on Max, there is a lot of buzz about who might play the iconic Green Lantern.
During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, he stated, “I watched that Justice League cartoon religiously in high school, college right after, etc. It was dope.
“Seeing John Stewart, knowing that there was a black Green Lantern was something like in terms of representation, was like ‘Oh Man! There’s a space for me in this world and I see it.’ And when I looked at the cartoon, I would think, ‘I kind of look like this dude.'”
“If it could happen, that would be legitimately exciting. That would be one of those giddy-inducing moments in life because my kids would get it, without me having to explain it to them.”
John Stewart, portrayed by Wayne T. Carr in the Snyder Cut, makes his live-action debut in ‘Lanterns,’ a Max series alongside Hal Jordan. Sterling K. Brown provides a fitting choice and that too as a fan-favorite one.
