Steven Knight, the man behind Peaky Blinders, has just uncovered the first teaser for his new drama This Town on the BBC. The program, which has a premiere date of March 31, 2024, is about an extended family that struggles to make their own decisions amid social unrest. The drama is set in 1981 and centers on a group of young people who, amid Birmingham’s political turbulence, decide to create a rock band.
The character played by Austin Brown first appears in the trailer and shortly meets Austin’s Jeannie Keefe. They decide to start a band since they both love music, and this may be the big break Dante has been waiting for. The next part of the trailer follows Jeannie and Levi as they gradually bring new band members on board. Rose portrays Dante’s cousin Bardon Quinn at the beginning of the story.
But when the kids begin to realize how real the world is, things start to change. While Dante’s brother Gregory (Jordan Bolger) is forced to work for the military to spy on his friends and family, Bardon’s father appears to be pressuring him to enlist in the Irish Republican Army shortly after he joined the band. However, Dante himself discovers that he is caving into the world of drugs and sex.
This Town will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 9 PM. On Monday, April 1, 2024, at 9:00 PM, the second episode will air. The remaining episodes will air every Sunday night following that. Watch the teaser by clicking the link below.
