Strange Way Of Life: Pedro Pascal And Ethan Hawke’s Intimate Chemistry

The official trailer for ‘Strange Way Of Life’ has been released. The much-anticipated film is a gay cowboy drama directed by Pedro Almodovar. The film has Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal in the lead roles and has José Condessa, Jason Fernadez, Erenice Lohan, Pedro Casablanca, George Steane, and other actors in important roles.

This is the second English film for Pedro after ‘The Human Voice’ which starred Tilda Swinton. The film was critically well acclaimed and we can hope the same from ‘Strange Way Of Life’ too. The film tells the story of a man named Silva who rides a horse to cross a desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He goes to visit his friend Sheriff Jake who used to work as a hired gunman alongside himself twenty-five years ago. After that day, Sheriff tells that Silva’s coming here to meet him must not be for a mere reunion and we soon get to know about more chemistry in the relationship between the two of them.

The cinematography is handled by Jose Louis Alcaine and the music is given by Alberto Iglesias. The trailer has a retro cowboy look to it and the color grading and shots are awesome. The film is going to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival and it will be distributed in the UK Pathé, the film will be distributed by Mubi internationally.

According to many, the Western genre of films is deeply associated with masculinity, and by challenging that idea with stories of homosexuality, it is creating a novel genre. Brokeback Mountain which starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger followed this trope too.

Pedro Almodovar is a genius of a director and with two such big actors, he has quite stirred the industry with Strange Way Of Life. Fans are excited and there are talks about the movie all over the internet.
