A remake of the 2005 film of the same title, Prime Video’s attempt to recreate the old gem might have worked. Now, it’s always a rare scenario that the remake of a film works, but Prime Video did some magical task with it. And as “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is streaming on the platform, the question arises: How good is it?
Plot-
In Season 1 of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” John (Donald Glover) and Jane (Maya Erskine) navigate the complexities of their married life while concealing their deadly assassin skills. The season unfolds with a series of intense missions, culminating in a dangerous showdown with rival assassins, the High-Risk Smiths.
Tensions peak when John is falsely accused of killing Jane’s cat, Max, triggering a home battlefield and revealing their vulnerabilities. Injecting truth serum, the couple engages in a raw conversation about their love. However, their respite is short-lived as the Extremely High-Risk Smiths enter the scene.
Seeking refuge in a safe room, the season concludes with a cliffhanger: John is wounded, and Jane faces an ambiguous fate in a fierce confrontation with the waiting assassin.

Opinion-
Even if you’ve watched the original 2005 film, this version adds a different spice. Don’t worry; the plot hasn’t just copied everything from the source, as there are some major differences.
“The Heirs” also has a hit of wit, not saturating with either the action of a thriller or the romance. Plus, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine nail their parts, managing to bring out better chemistry than Jolie and Pitt.
Besides that, the camera work and color grading deserve massive praise. Easy on the eyes, ears, and the mind, the series is a perfect blend of everything.
Stream Or Skip-
Definitely STREAM IT! Treat this as a mixture of a fierce thriller and a rom-com. From great acting to wit, even a sprinkle of romance, it’s the perfect binge-watch for the weekend. And since Prime Video released all the episodes at once, no more waiting for the fans. This show is definitely overshadowing the original one starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
