So, Dune Part 2 is lurking on the horizon as the tickets will be on sale real soon, and the premiere tickets are already on sale in the USA. Because of that, you have definitely put a big red circle around March 1st, and as you are waiting, why not check something out by Denis Villeneuve?
So, what about his films?
If you are a cinephile, you have definitely checked out his cinematography. Villeneuve is definitely a mastermind in terms of cinematography, especially from films such as Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival. Someone having Dune under the belt says a lot about their capability or vision in terms of cinematography.
But, sometimes, we do need a hit of action during Sunday evening, and for that, you need to stream this Villeneuve film.
Sicario.
The main cast of “Sicario” includes Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Daniel Kaluuya, and Victor Garber, which is promising enough, and it isn’t one of those films that limit the thrill to the names of the cast.
“Sicario” unfolds a tense narrative at the U.S.-Mexico border, immersing viewers in the escalating war on drugs. Emily Blunt’s character, an idealistic FBI agent, becomes entangled with shadowy government operatives portrayed by Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.
The film not only limits the thrill to the guns and flashy shooting, but Villeneuve also gives it a psychological twist. The storytelling of the film is already appreciated along with the camera work, exactly what you expect from a Villeneuve film.
Sicario is currently streaming on Prime Video, and if you wanna get a taste of the film, here is the trailer –
