The cast also does a phenomenal job. Behzad Dorani as Behzad nails the role. Noghre Asadi, Roushan Karam, Bahman Ghobadi, and Shahpour Ghobadi also shine.
The plot is quite astounding. It follows a Tehran engineer and his team who visit a remote Kurdish village to document local funeral rituals. As they wait for an elderly woman to die, the protagonist becomes immersed in the villagers’ lives, leading to introspection and a profound connection with the village’s rhythms and customs.
The film explores themes of life, death, and cultural observation, typical of a Kiarostami film.
