Stree 2: How Maddock Deceived Fans With Teaser!

Stree is a film that needs no introduction. The sensational film took the Indian cinema by storm 6 years ago. We all know that the movie starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi and Shraddha Kapoor was a massive hit and later became a modern classic. The memes, the clips and even the songs became a rage and eventually, the makers decided to make a cinematic universe out of it.

So far, Roohi, Bhediya and the latest Munjya have been the additions to the franchise. Munjya is doing exceptionally well at the box office if we keep in mind its budget and cast.

There is also no doubt about the fact that Stree is still the poster girl of this Maddock Supernatural Universe.

Given the big rage around Munjya, the makers decided to attach the trailer of Stree 2 with Munjya. But, fans are deceived.

The makers have decided to show the teaser of Stree 2 exclusively in the theaters. That too starting today. So, it won’t be released online anytime soon.

Consider a person who watched Munjya in the first week i.e. from the 7th June to 13th June. That person couldn’t watch Stree 2 teaser on the big screens and the makers aren’t releasing it online too. How sad is that? We wish Maddock Films had released the teaser online on YouTube.

Thankfully Amar Kaushik has returned as the director of the film but we are definitely gonna miss the screenplay by Raj and DK that graced the first installment. The director duo would become too expensive now given the fact that Raj and DK are the undisputed kings of Indian OTT right now.

Regardless, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana are returning with their respective roles.

The film is scheduled for release on the 15th of August. Independence Day will be a nice day for the film to gain buzz.

However, it is clashing against Vedaa (John Abraham), Khel Khel Mein (Akshay Kumar) and also Pushpa 2: The Rule.

How crazy is that?

This jam-packed schedule might change as it will badly hamper every film in the north. Let’s see what happens.
