As per a new report from Deadline, the Suits franchise has received a new sensational character from the upcoming spin-off entry, Suits: L.A. The series serves as a spin-off to the original ‘Suits’ series, which ran from 2011 to 2019. According to Deadline, the spin-off’s breakout star is Josh McDermitt, who is best known for playing Eugene Porter in AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ series.
Deadline has revealed that the filming for Aaron Korsh’s Suits: L.A. has been wrapped. First reactions to the show have been mostly positive, with special praise directed at Josh McDermitt’s comedic and lively performance as Stuart Lane. Apart from McDermitt, ‘Arrow’ fame Stephen Amell also looks in fine form as Ted Black.
The spin-off revolves around Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor residing in New York. He reinvents his career by successfully representing some of the most powerful clients in the city of Los Angeles. However, his life turns upside down after he discovers that his firm is in shambles, forcing him to accept a role he hated for so long.
One of the reasons behind Suits’ mammoth success in recent years is its usage of witty and sharp humour, despite being a legal drama. This approach from Korsh made the interactions between the show’s characters entertaining, especially the convos between Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). Rick Hoffman’s Louis Litt added an extra layer of humour to Suits with his eccentricities and outbursts. We can expect a similar brand of humour in Suits: L.A. as well. Stay tuned for more updates
