Suits’ New Venture Dresses Well With Female Lead

If having a boom had an image, it would definitely wear a suit as Netflix’s acquisition of the series managed to give it exposure to a whole new audience. As it rose through the Netflix charts, speculation arose about what’s next.

There is a sequel.

It’s not new news; Universal Television and NBCUniversal previously announced that they would be making a sequel, sort of a thing, with the Suits, naming it Suits: Los Angeles.

Aaron Korsh, the previous showrunner, is back with the craft, but most of the details are kept under the mist. One interesting point that might give it a new spin is that the show might have a female lead.

Suits, though it had its fair share of female characters, and some drew a lot of attention in terms of empowerment, none overshadowed the spark of Ross and Harvey.

News has been out about the character description of the new female central character, “30s, Black, SoCal native, and Harvard law alum. She’s jockeying to be made Head of Entertainment. She’s great at closing clients but struggles elsewhere. Smarter than everyone.”

Now, speculations might be drawn that it might be Rachel Zane, the role played by Meghan Markle. But confirmation is yet to arrive from official sources; shifting from a male narrative perspective to a female’s world, Suits’ new spin-off can gain a plethora of popularity.

Will it gain similar traction? The chance is really low as expectations might crush the future, but taking a chance is what an artist can do.
