After the roaring success of ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol is returning with ‘Border 2’, sequel of his another blockbuster film ‘Border’ that released 27 years ago.
‘Border 2’ was announced yesterday and the film has now got a release date. It will release in cinemas on 23rd January, 2026, targeting the Republic Day weekend.
The original ‘Border’ came out in 1997 and was set during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. The film was based on the events of Battle of Longewala and starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Rakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee.
‘Border 2’ will star Sunny Deol in the lead and is directed by Anurag Singh (‘Kesari’, ‘Punjab 1984’, ‘Jatt and Juliet’ series, ‘Yaar Ammulle’). The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar; JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta under their T-Series and JP Films banners respectively. ‘Border 2’ will release in theatres on 23rd January, 2026.
