Amazon Prime Video has been coming out strong when it comes to exclusive Malayalam film releases and it is all set to continue doing the same with its latest Mollywood film ‘Sunny’. That’s because the latest trailer dropped by Amazon for Jayasurya’s 100th film ‘Sunny’ is nothing less than a cinematic spectacle.
‘Sunny’ on Amazon Prime Video is the story of a man who has lost his family, his money and his best friend but most importantly his hope. Having lost everything he leaves Dubai and comes back home to Kerala where he has to stay quarantined in a hotel room.
This loneliness at such a difficult juncture in his life takes a great toll on him as he experiences a bout of emotions and mostly the unbearable pain of loss, leading him to drinking a lot to drown all that suffering. All this agony also affects his mental health severely.
But amidst these dull dark moments, rays of hope come through encounters with strangers and its in these small moments that he feels a little better. The emotional void he feels is large and with no human contact at a time when he is at the lowest in his life feels like the longest and hardest days ever. What will happen to him? Will he come out victorious of this most difficult phase of his life or will he succumb to it?
‘Sunny’ on Amazon Prime Video has a beautiful concept shot in an equally interesting format. The emotions, the pain, it all comes through vey well on the screen. The music is what makes it even more gripping and emotionally overwhelming.
Ranjith Sankar has written, directed and co-produced ‘Sunny’ along with lead star of the film Jayasurya under the banner of Dreams N Beyond, making it their eight such collaboration. ‘Sunny’ will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 23rd September, 2021.
