Actor Tosin Cole has been roped in for another science fiction show for Netflix. The show is titled ‘Supacell’ and it will have six episodes in total. The release dates are not out yet, but most probably they will be out in June this year.
‘Supacell’ tells the story of a locality in South London where some people are mysteriously charged with some superpowers suddenly. The only connection between the people are that they are all black. It will be great to have something that will be a Blend between science fiction and black experience. Filmmaker Jordan Peele has made it possible with his wonderful filmography and it does not seem to be so impossible after all. Films like ‘Nope’ and ‘Get Out’ have blended the stories of oppression with new age science fiction in a wonderful way, and Supacell might be an interesting addition in this list.
Cole said, “It’s About Time. We should have already had something like this, but there’s no more perfect time like now. So I’m excited to be in something of this scale that hasn’t been done before, especially in London.” He will be playing the role of Michael, a delivery driver who suddenly discovers that he can teleport through space and time. Michael is given the duty to collect the supernaturals together to prevent a giant upcoming tragedy.
The release dates of ‘Supacell’ will hopefully be revealed soon.
