Alfred Molina who portrayed “Doc Octopus” in the first Spider-Man franchise has been reported to be on the set of the third film of “Spider-Man: Homecoming series”. According to Geek World Wide, Molina has already started stunt choreography and started filming his scenes a few weeks ago. The highly anticipated movie has had a few setbacks due to the pandemic crisis, but is now shooting in Atlanta. None of this has been confirmed by Sony or Marvel, as of yet.
We all know the third installment of Marvel’s latest “Spider-Man: Homecoming” series will have Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro from the ‘Amazing Spider-man 2’. Alfred Molina portrayed the primary antagonist in ‘Spider-Man 2’. Since both characters are villains of Spider-Man movies, whose titular character is portrayed by two different actors in both movies (Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire), this is obviously a ploy by Marvel to introduce the multiverse into the MCU.
This means that there is a real chance that Andrew Garfield’s and Tobey Maguire’s versions of Spider-Man could appear in the film and that sounds epic. Since we are seeing both Molina (hopefully) and Foxx reprising the roles, we are expecting the third Spider-Man film (Tom Holland version) to bring in both villains into the MCU Universe when they are clashing with their respective Spider-Man.
‘Spider-Man 2’ was the best in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man franchise. And Alfred Molina deserves credit for the success of the film due to his brilliant performance in the movie. Molina is an English-American actor who has appeared in over 200 film, television and theater productions. His role in ‘Spider-Man 2’ was the first time he got to work on a film of that size of production as well as work with wires. Molina later said in an interview that ‘Spider-Man 2’ was the most fun he had ever had working on a film and he would return to reprise the role in a heartbeat, if he was asked. Well it has been close to 16 years, but better late than never.
