Suresh Babu Clarifies On Virata Parvam’s OTT Release, And More

Ace Telugu filmmaker Suresh Babu is possibly the most calculative producer in Telugu cinema. He operates purely based on the financial equations and doesn’t give two hoots about how others react to his decisions. The noted producer has now opened up about Virata Parvam’s OTT release and as well as his forthcoming projects.

Virata Parvam is still in the filming phase. We still have to shoot for another 3-4 days. There is another producer associated with the project. So, the mode of the film’s release can’t be my unilateral decision. I am not entirely sure if the film will be arriving in theatres or if it will premiere directly on OTT. The decision will be taken soon and we will make an official announcement correspondingly,” he said.

About his forthcoming projects, Suresh Babu said “I have 3 projects that are in various stages of production. All these films will be premiering directly on OTT. I don’t want to release them in theatres and take the risk of losing money. I don’t care what others think. But I care for the Telugu film industry as much as anyone.”

About the government of Andhra Pradesh’s newly passed cinematography bill, Suresh Babu said “With the newly imposed ticket pricing restriction, it is near impossible to operate cinema halls. The ticket prices won’t even cover the expenses. It is irrational to have the same ticket pricing for small and big films. The budgets largely vary and accordingly, the ticket prices should be flexible as well. In the market, there are various commodities, but not all of them are priced the same. The same should be the case with cinema tickets as well,” he opines.
