Suriya is currently on a career high after giving two back-to-back OTT blockbusters, ‘Soorarai Pottru’ and ‘Jai Bhim’, incidentally both on Amazon Prime Video. It is commendable that despite releasing digitally, both films have managed to not only make a mark but also clearly emerge as super hits. Actor Suriya’s next, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan‘ is an action thriller, written and directed by Pandiraj. The director took to social media earlier today to share an update regarding ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’, much to the delight of fans. No sooner did he announce the shoot completion of the much-awaited film, than speculations are rife about its release date!
Produced by Sun Pictures, ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’ also stars Vinay Rai and Priyanka Mohan in lead roles, with Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Soori and M. S. Bhaskar in supporting roles. If reports are to be believed, the makers are all set to begin the post-production work and are eyeing a Pongal 2022 release. The next obvious question is whether it would clash with Ajith’s ‘Valimai’, already scheduled for a theatrical release on 14th January for Pongal. Well, it is being said that the makers are looking to avoid the clash and will schedule a different date around the time.
Produced by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor under his banner ‘Bayview Projects’, ‘Valimai’ is a high-octane spy thriller, apparently set against a backdrop of the car-racing world and will see actor Ajith as protagonist, whereas Kartikeya will portray the role of the antagonist. ‘Valimai’ has also been garnering much attention, with fans of the actor from northern India demanding a Hindi release for the film, post which the makers have even begun the dubbing work.
