Hombale Films and Prime Video sprung a major surprise on film buffs this afternoon, in the form of Yash’s KGF Chapter 2! The blockbuster Kannada film is now available to watch on Prime Video on the pay per view model. Viewers can pay ₹199 as rent, and watch KGF 2 on Prime Video in HD print.
KGF Chapter 2 is available to rent on Prime Video in all its audio versions – the Kannada original, as well as the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi dubbed versions. The Yash starrer has enjoyed mega success in theatres worldwide, raking in a massive ₹1200 crore+ in box office collections. Though KGF 2 is still making good money at the ticket windows, the stakeholders thought it fit to release it on OTT just a month after its theatrical release.
KGF Chapter 2 released in theatres on April 14, and became an instant success. It shattered box office records, left, right and center; even records for films in the Hindi language, despite being a Kannada film. Now, 32 days after its theatrical release, KGF Chapter 2 is streaming on Prime Video, albeit as pay per view.
Hombale Films announced the digital release of KGF 2 with a cryptic Twitter post that merely said, “#TVOD”.
