The Delhi High Court has denied the stay on the movie ‘Nyay The Justice‘ based on Sushant Singh Rajput‘s case, for the second time around putting all speculations to an end. Advocate Vikas Singh battled for an injunction, however, no relief was granted and the film is ready for release in theaters post Covid.
The film stars Zuber Khan and Shreya Shukla in lead roles as Sushant and Rhea Chakraborty respectively, with Asrani as the actor’s father, Kiran Kumar as his father’s Advocate, Aman Verma as ED Chief, Shakti Kapoor as NCB Chief, Sudha Chandran as CBI Chief and Somi Khan, in pivotal roles amongst others.
Directed by Dilip Gulati and produced by Sarla Saraogi and Rahul Sharma, the film was initially slated to release on 11th June 2021, shortly before the actor’s first death anniversary. The makers had even resorted to a digital release earlier, but now that the HC has granted permission, the film will see a theatrical release.
“We believed justice would be served through the system and we are very happy with the verdict. We have always mentioned that this film is not being made to ride on the events and make money, but we wanted the truth to come out and justice being served,” said producer Rahul Sharma. He further added that the film will release after theatres are reopened.
Although the trailer doesn’t look impressive, with weak performances and poor direction, we’ll have to wait and see how the film eventually turns out to be. After all, this is a story of one of the most loved actors gone too soon and should do justice to his stature in the very least. It’s definitely an empty void and an irreparable loss to Indian cinema.
