Sushmita Sen has successfully revamped her career through OTT. After headlining enormously successful Aarya on Disney+Hotstar, the former Miss Universe is now shooting for a new series. It is called Taali.
The series is being made by Voot Select and it was in buzz from last week but now, it has been officially announced. Based on the life of transgender activist, Shreegauri Sawant, Taali is going to be a biopic.
Taali in Hindi means clap. Needless to say, transgenders in India are often stereotyped as a community that claps near people while asking for people. Shreegauri Sawant is indeed an inspiration; she not only broke the stereotype but went on to become the mother of a girl who was left alone to be sold in the marsh of prostitution.
Leaving alone various achievements, Shreegauri Sawant helps people of the transgender community come out of the prostitution chain. A lot of transgender people get infected with HIV/AIDS and Shreegauri Sawant helps them in treatment and leading a better life.
She is also the founder of an NGO called Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust.
The first look of Taali looks good as we can see Sushmita Sen in a different skin tone and the overall make-up looks convincing. She is a phenomenal actress but she would have to work on speaking like Sawant.
We hope for the best and promise our readers to keep them updated on any official progress which follows.
