Netflix has dropped the official trailer of Sweet Tooth Season 2 after unveiling its teaser nearly three weeks ago. With the trailer, we return to the post-apocalyptic world where a viral pandemic, The Sick, has wiped out more than half of the world’s humans. Due to the pandemic’s side effects, some children get born as hybrids, half human and half animal. The show’s protagonist, Gus, is also a half-deer hybrid.
The first season ended with the Last Men taking all the hybrid children, including Gus, under Aimee Eden’s care. Gus has not yet met his mother. And the latest trailer opens up by showing her mother as she looks back on how everything went wrong after the pandemic’s arrival.
The Last Men’s leader, General Abbott, wants to find the cure for the virus by any means possible, even if he achieves his goal after sacrificing hybrid children. Gus, Aimee, Jeppard, and the other hybrids are done waiting for someone else to save them. They realise that they are on their own. This scenario forces them to team up against General Abbott in an all-out war for survival.
In addition to the characters mentioned above, Doctor Aditya Singh is working with Gus to find the virus’ cure by exploring deep into his dark past and the beginning of “The Great Crumble”.
Sweet Tooth Season 2 will bring back familiar faces of Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Dania Ramirez, Adeel Akhtar, Neil Sandilands, and Marlon Williams. Josh Brolin will return to lend his voice as the show’s narrator. It will release on Netflix on April 27. Stay tuned for more updates.
