After starring in globally acclaimed sports movies and myriad action films like ‘Rocky’ and ‘First Blood’, the 76-year-old Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone is in no mood to hang up his boots, yet. The Italian Stallion is now set to star in an action-comedy movie titled ‘Never Too Old to Die’, penned by Brian Otting, which has been acquired by Amazon Studios. Besides starring in it, Stallone will also produce it under his banner Balboa Productions.
The underlying plot of ‘Never Too Old to Die’ would take place in a retirement home for spies. But after a mysterious murder, a Cold War hero makes it his personal mission to track the unknown killer, who is living amongst them. It can be safe to assume that Sylvester Stallone will be playing the role of the Cold War hero. So far, no director has been finalized to direct the ‘Never Too Old to Die’ movie.
A few days back, it was reported that Sylvester Stallone had inked a first look, multi-year deal with Amazon Studios. The Oscar-nominated actor-filmmaker will produce, direct, write, and feature in several films and shows under the ambit of the agreement. And ‘Never Too Old to Die’ movie will act as the first project as part of the deal.
Sylvester Stallone’s previous feature film acting role was in last year’s superhero movie ‘Samaritan’, which was released on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. Besides, he also played the lead role in the Paramount+ crime drama series ‘Tulsa King’ in which Stallone’s performance was appreciated by many critics and fans.
Sylvester Stallone’s forthcoming acting projects include the multi-starrer actioner ‘The Expendables 4’ and he will also reprise his role as the high-ranking ravage Stakar Ogord in James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3’. Another interesting project in the pipeline is a film based on James Byron Huggins’ sci-fi action novel ‘Hunter’ for which Stallone had acquired the rights back in the year 2009.
