Netflix has announced its latest original film ‘Gandhari’, an action thriller drama starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead. ‘Gandhari’ will be helmed by ‘Joram’ and ‘Bhonsle’ filmmaker Devashish Makhija.
According to the official description, “‘Gandhari’ promises a riveting storyline filled with relentless determination and intense personal stakes, set against the backdrop of gripping mystery and high-powered action. Audiences will see Taapsee Pannu as a fierce mom on a mission.”
‘Gandhari’ will mark the reunion of Taapsee and writer-producer Kanika Dhillon who have previously worked together on projects like, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziya’, ‘Netflix’s ’Haseen Dilruba’ and its sequel ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba’, Zee5’s ‘Rashmi Rocket’, and Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’.
Moreover, ‘Gandhari’ is Dhillon’s second collaboration with Netflix under her Kathha Pictures banner after the upcoming ‘Do Patti’ starring Kriti Sanon and Kajol in the lead.
Taapsee Pannu shared her excitement for the role wherein she will be retuning to action after 9 years and is also thrilled to explore the emotional depths of the character of a mother driven by revenge.
Dhillon further shared that Taapsee and her are coming together for a fiery, raw action thriller for the first time and that she is excited to bring this powerful tale of revenge and redemption.
