Tabu needs no introduction. She is an exceptionally powerful actress who has maintained a niche of her own in Indian cinema. She has a very dedicated following among cinephiles as she is very pernickety in her choices of films.
Regardless, when the news of her joining Dune: Prophecy broke in India then it was a matter of great pride and joy among the fans. We all know how successful the Dune franchise is. Having a man like Denis Villeneuve helming the projects is nothing less than a cinematic treat.
Later this year Max/JioCinema would start streaming the first series of the franchise called Dune: Prophecy. Earlier titled Dune: Sisterhood, the series is based on Bene Gesserit and is set 10000 years before the rise of Paul Artreides.
In this series, Tabu plays the character of Sister Francesca. Her character is described as: “strong, intelligent and alluring, leaving a lasting impression wherever she goes. The bio is certainly interesting, let’s see how well the whole series comes out to be. Fingers crossed for Tabu and Dune Prophecy.
