‘Connect’: Takashi Miike’s collaboration with Disney+ finally has a release date. The makers dropped a main trailer for the film with a scheduled release date December 7th,2022. The show stars Jung Hae-in, who last starred in Disney+ smash-hit Snowdrop in the lead.
The first trailer dropped in the month of September was a full on Jung Hae-in show. While the main trailer dropped today introduces the antagonist and other important characters played by Go Kyung-pyo, Kim Hye-jun, and Jang Gwang too. The show boasts of a thumping score, stylish colour palette and gives a sneak-peak at the core theme of the show, i.e connection through organ donation. It looks like Disney+ is having a winner again in its kitty.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Connect follows a mystery that follows when a man whose eyes have been taken, connects with a person who has received it in an organ transplant. The webtoon written by Shin-Dae Sung is one of the most popular webtoons of all time. And with Takashi Miike getting back to direction, all signs are clear for Connect.
Alongside Jung Hae-in the series stars Go Kyung-pyo, Kim Hye-jun, Jang Gwang in major roles. The 6 episode series is the first South Korean drama to be helmed by a Japanese director. The series premiered at 27th Busan International Film Festival in “Onscreen Section” in the month of October and will stream worldwide from December 7th on Disney+ and its subsidiary channels where Disney+ isn’t available. In India it’ll stream on Disney+Hotstar.
