Tales Of Dunk And Egg, New Game Of Thrones Prequel In Works At HBO

We’d informed our readers earlier about a Game Of Thrones prequel series called ‘House of the Dragon’ in the works at HBO. Now comes news that HBO is working on another Game Of Thrones prequel series, based on George R. R. Martin’s novellas, ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’. The novellas are set in a time before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’. The news was first reported by media publication Variety.

Tales Of Dunk And Egg follows the youthful adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and Aegon V Targaryen (Egg), much before they assumed their positions of authority in ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’, the books on which Game Of Thrones is based on. A one-hour pilot episode will be made first, based on which will depend whether it will become a series.

Tales Of Dunk And Egg consist of three novellas as of now. George R. R. Martin has plans to go upto nine novellas.

Another Game Of Thrones prequel series ‘House of the Dragon’ has been in the works since last year. It is based on Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood, and is set in a time period 300 years before the events of ‘A Song Of Fire And Ice’ and Game Of Thrones.

HBO has been looking to build on the Game Of Thrones franchise ever since the show ended. It hopes to replicate the success of the show by giving viewers more of what they loved in the epic drama Game Of Thrones.

The cast and crew of Tales Of Dunk And Egg are yet to be finalised. Stay tuned to Binged.com for further news on both prequel series of Game Of Thrones.
