Tamil Film Lift To Make Malayalam Television Premiere On Asianet

Lift is a South Indian horror-thriller feature that released directly for streaming last year, on October 1st 2021, on the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar. The Tamil film is currently available for streaming in Full HD with Tamil and English subtitles provided as well. Now, the Tamil film is making its Malayalam television premiere on the Malayalam media channel, Asianet. This was announced from Asianet’s official Twitter account very recently, so check out the tweet below:

Due to the number of big OTT releases expected to drop in October, Lift wasn’t heavily advertised prior to its OTT premiere. Still, the film managed to garner mixed-to-positive reviews, with nearly everyone praising the acting chops of the film leads, Kavin Raj and Amritha Ayer. It was written and directed by Vineeth Varaprasad.

As the title of the film suggests, Lift is based on an elevator in a haunted building, which is where our protagonist duo, Guru and Harini, works. One evening, Guru decides to stay late at the office to complete some work which was requested earlier by a client. However, when he tries to leave later, he finds out that he is trapped inside the building with no way out. While he finds out that Harini is also trapped in the office, they both soon learn that they are not the only ones roaming around in the building. As mentioned in the tweet, Lift will make its Malayalam television debut this weekend, on 23rd January 2021, Sunday at 4:30 pm IST, on Asianet.
