Horror Comedy was a home bred genre for Tamil Cinema. But since a few years there weren’t horror comedy outings from the Industry. However it seems like the genre is making a come-back with Kajal Aggarwal starrer Ghosty. The makers dropped a goofy teaser yesterday and today we learn about the digital rights of the film. The streaming rights of Ghosty is bagged by Zee5.
Ghosty follows Aarthi, a police Inspector. Her ultimate goal in life is to arrest an accused named Daas who escaped from her father’s custody 20 years back. In a shootout, Aarthi shoots someone else thinking it was Daas. What follows is a series of jump scares and comedy. Ghosty teaser reveals more about the plot of the film which involves Kajal in a double role. One of them is Aarthi, a high-ranking cop and the other is a famous actor. On the other end a mischievous ghost is out and it’s troubling the cop.
Ghosty is written and directed by Kalyaan, who earlier helmed films like Gulaebaghavali and Jackpot. It stars Kajal Aggarwal, Yogi Babu in lead roles. K.S.Ravikumar, Redin Kingsley, Thangadurai, Jagan, Urvasi, Sathyan, Adukalam Naren, Manobala, Motta Rajendran, Mayilsamy, Saminaathan, Devadarshini and Suresh Menon star in supporting roles.
