Ilango Ram’s Persusu is the chaotic fun-filled remake of the director’s Sri Lankan Sinhalese fim Tentigo. This humorous romp filled to the brim slapstick comedy was released for the Tamil theatres this year on the 14th of March.
The movie revolves around the raunchy circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly man, setting the sons out for a humor fueled journey in order to prepare for a funeral which forces them to work past their strained relationship, coming to terms with the true nature of their father and navigating through the unusual circumstances brought forth by their situation threatening the respectable integrity of their family.
Perusu stars Vaibhav and Sunil Reddy as the central characters, the sons of the deceased elderly. This joint venture by Stone Bench films (also responsible for the production of Tentigo), Baweja Studios and Emberlight Studios also stars Niharika NM in her Tamil acting debut, Redin Kingsley, Bala Saravanan and more as the supporting cast with the technical team of Arun Raj responsible for the music composition, cinematography by Sathya Thilakam, Sooriya Kumaraguru as the editor and art direction by Sunil Villuwamangalath.
Despite a lukewarm response unlike its original counterpart Tentigo which was highly acclaimed, the movie is sure to serve its OTT audience with a laughter filled experience when it drops on Netflix on the 11th of April.
