Voot Select might have lesser number of original Indian content but most of them out there are worth taking note of. And one such original series is its captivating courtroom drama ‘Illegal‘ that is coming back soon for season 2 with a stellar new addition to the cast.
Tanuj Virwani (‘Inside Edge’, ‘Code M’) will be joining Piyush Mishra, Neha Sharma and Akshay Oberoi, who will return to reprise their leading roles. Virwani is a good looking, young and talented actor who will feature in ‘Illegal’ season 2 as Neha Sharma’s love interest.
On his addition to the cast, Tanuj Virwani says, “I have watched the first season of Illegal and the plot, the performances and the sheer passion of the actors completely blew my mind. So naturally, when I was offered to join the cast, and share screen space with a stalwart like Mr. Piyush Mishra and phenomenal actors like Neha, Akshay and Satyadeep I did not need to contemplate it at all. The courtroom drama genre is new to me and it seems extremely interesting. I make an entry as a venture capitalist, in a cast full of lawyers and I am really looking forward to see how that dynamic pans out on screen.”
The first season of Voot Select Original ‘Illegal’ was an intriguing legal drama that kept the audience hooked with its intense power dynamic between a mentor and a mentee. An idealistic, feisty lawyer, Niharika Singh (Neha Sharma), who believes in fighting hard for justice gets caught in the murky world of criminal law. She has to stand against a successful lawyer, Janardhan Jaitley (Piyush Sharma) from a high-end law firm where its all about billable hours. The first season touched pressing issues like sexual harassment at workplace and death penalty.
Other than the show’s thrilling storyline, Tanuj Virwani’s addition and the anticipation of his on-screen chemistry with Neha Sharma, definitely make Voot Select Original ‘Illegal’ season 2 something to look out for.
