Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaara’ will premiere on Netflix on the 15th of October. The psychological thriller is the official remake of the Spanish film ‘Mirage’. It premiered at London Indian C and was released on the 19th of August this year. The film turned out to be a tremendous flop at the Box-office. The reviews for the movie were impressive and Anurag Kashyap impresses critics as always but the movie is a disaster in terms of box office collection nonetheless.
‘Dobaaraa’ has a wonderful cast with Tapsee Pannu, Saqib Ali, Adil Hussain, and Lisa Ray. The time-travel drama was the second remake of an Oriol Paulo film by Pannu, the first one being Badla which is a remake of ‘The Invisible Guest’. The story follows a young boy suddenly dying on a stormy night after witnessing something terrible in his neighborhood. After twenty-five years Antara, played by Tapsee, tries to save the boy’s life on a similar stormy night but her actions take unusual turns.
Anurag Kashyap is a filmmaker of trust. He is one of the few Indian filmmakers that have satisfied and entertained the audience with enriched content. The trend of boycotting Bollywood and too much hatred towards remakes are not going well with the business of the films. The film after its OTT release may have some better viewership. It is hard to believe that Anurag Kashyap will deliver something with very low entertainment value. Dobaara is definitely worth a watch, at least after its OTT streaming on October 15 on Netflix.
