Zee5 has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original film ‘Tarla’ and its an inspiring story of a homemaker turned celebrity cook. Helmed by Piyush Gupta, ‘Tarla’ will premiere only on Zee5 on 7th July, 2023.
‘Tarla’ trailer begins with young Tarla meeting his prospective groom with whom she later gets married to. It’s to him that she disclosed how she wants to do something with her life but does not what yet.
Twelve years into the marriage, living a happy life with her kids and husband Tarla still is unaware of what she wants to do with her life and that more than often makes her sad. One fine day she discovers her passion for cooking and that’s when she realises that this is what she had looking for all her life. From there begins the inspiring journey of Tarla Dalal who redefined Indian styled cooking and won the hearts of millions.
Starring Huma Qureshi in the titular role, ‘Tarla’ is a biographical film inspired from the life of Indian food writer, chef, cookbook author, host of cooking shows and Padma Shree awardee Tarla Dalal.
‘Tarla’ is directed by Piyush Gupta who is known for his writing credits for films like ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Bhootnath Returns’ and ‘Ankahi Kahaniyan’. The film is written by Piyush Gupta and Gautam Ved.
Other than Huma Qureshi, ‘Tarla’ also stars Sharib Hashmi (‘The Family Man’, ‘Pagglait’, ‘Helmet’, ‘Ram Singh Charlie’), Bharati Achrekar, Amarjeet Singh, Rajeev Pandey, Purnendu Bhattacharya and Veena Naair.
‘Tarla’ is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari. The production companies bankrolling the film are RSVP Movies and Earth Sky. ‘Tarla’ will start streaming only on Zee5 from 7th July, 2023 onwards.
