We now have a brand-new official trailer for the Apple TV+ series Smoke, led by the talented Taron Egerton, who plays Dave Gudsen—a detective and arson investigator working with the police department to stop two serial arsonists in the Pacific Northwest. The series is created by novelist Dennis Lehane and appears to be inspired by true events and Lehane’s own Firebug podcast.
Alongside Taron Egerton, the show features a strong ensemble cast, including Jurnee Smollett, John Leguizamo, Rafe Spall, Greg Kinnear, Ntare Mwine, and Hannah Emily Anderson.
Smoke is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on June 27 with its first two episodes. The remaining episodes will be released weekly. The series has a total of nine episodes, with the finale scheduled to debut on August 15.
The show was first announced in December 2022 and marks Lehane and Egerton’s second collaboration. The pair previously worked together on Apple TV+’s miniseries Black Bird. Egerton’s new miniseries is based on the crimes of real-life arsonist John Leonard Orr. Both Egerton and Lehane also serve as executive producers.
Additionally, Emmy Award winner Marc Smerling is an executive producer for Truth Podcasting Corp. The directing team includes Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jim McKay. Stay tuned for more updates.
