The final episode of season 11 of the reality TV series, ‘Taskmaster’ premiered yesterday (21st May 2021) on YouTube on the official Taskmaster YouTube page. A day prior to the season finale, we were given a look at the five upcoming participants/ comedians who will be joining the show for its 12th season. Check out the announcement video down below.
‘Taskmaster‘ is a reality TV game show which has five participants performing various tasks. The tasks are provided by the Taskmaster, Greg Davies and his assistant, “little” Alex Horne. The tasks usually take place at a house which is owned by the Taskmaster (the studio, more like) where the contestants are given weird tasks to complete and at the end of each task, The Taskmaster provides them with points. Each contestant participating in the show is usually a British comedian/ actor. Because of the participants and the absurdity of the tasks, nearly every task ends up being five funny acts put up by these comedians. Hence the points provided by the Taskmaster are completely arbitrary.
The recent season (Season 11) had Charlotte Ritchie, Jamali Maddix, Lee Mack, Mike Wozniak and Sarah Kendall participating on the show. Season 12 will feature Alan Davies, Desiree Burch, Guz Khan, Morgana Robinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell. The 12th season of ‘Taskmaster’ is expected to premiere in September 2021.
The series was developed by British comedian Alex Horne. The show is currently in its 6th year of production, with 2 seasons generally being made per year. After five seasons, the show makes a two-episode spin-off called ‘Taskmaster: Champions of Champions’, which brings back the winners of five seasons for a small competition to declare the “best” among them. The second edition of ‘Taskmaster: Champions of Champions’ called ‘Taskmaster: Champions of Champions II’ will premiere sometime later this year.
