We at Binged had informed our readers back in January 2021 that Disney+ Hotstar is developing its first Telugu web series. The show was titled ‘Gharshana’ then. Later, around June, the streamer had given us a glimpse of the upcoming show in a showreel that showcased all of Disney Plus Hotstar’s upcoming content. Now, this morning, the platform released a series of short teasers for the upcoming show. The title of the Telugu show is now ‘Parampara’.
The ultra-short teasers of ‘Parampara‘ introduce viewers to the cast of the show, along with a brief introduction of the characters they play. Parampara will mark the web debut of Telugu star Jagapathi Babu. The actor is playing the role of Mohan Rao, patriarch of the Rao family, for whom family comes first.
Another Tamil stalwart R Sarath Kumar will also make his web debut with Parampara. Sarath Kumar is playing Naidu, Mohan Rao’s arch-enemy, and for whom politics and power is all that matters. Other pivotal actors in Parampara are Naveen Chandra, who is playing Gopi, Mohan Rao’s son; and Ishan, who plays Suresh, Naidu’s son. Caught between these two is Rachana, played by Aakanksha Singh.
Parampara is touted to be a crime drama with family, power and politics being the driving factors of the narrative. Shobu Yarlagadda is producing Parampara, under his banner, Arka Media Works. Film buffs will know Shobu as the producer of the monstrous hits – the two ‘Baahubali’ films.
