‘Silence of the Lambs’ is getting a sequel series titled ‘Clarice’. As the name suggests, the series will follow FBI Agent Clarice Starling, who will be portrayed by Australian actor Rebecca Breeds (this time), from the original 1991 film ‘Silence of the Lambs’. A teaser for the series was dropped a few hours ago, filled with suspense but virtually gives nothing away. Check out the teaser down below.
The story is set in 1993, six months after the events of the film ‘Silence of the Lambs’. This untold personal story will be about Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to hunt other serial killers and sexual predators while navigating the dangerously political Washington D.C. The series will talk about the events of the movie but it will largely stick with the protagonist, Clarice and her newer cases.
The series is based on the novel titled ‘Silence of The Lambs’ written by the American suspense writer Thomas Harris. The psychological horror series was created by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet and it will stars (besides Rebecca Breeds) Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Michael Cudlitz and Marnee Carpenter in prominent roles.
CBS Studios, MGM Television and Secret Hideout will co-produce the series with the series set to release on the CBS Network on February 11th 2021. It will also stream digitally on CBS All Access which will be available in India by the time ‘Clarice’ would have “rolled out”.
This will be the third “reboot/ spinoff” from the original ‘Silence of The Lambs’ film franchise. Unlike the previous two, this spinoff will focus solely on the character of Clarice Starling. The previous ones (‘Silence of The Lambs’ film franchise and ’Hannibal’ web series) focused either on the cannibal psychologist Hannibal Lecter and/ or FBI profiler Will Graham.
