SonyLIV unveiled a tantalizing teaser for its hotly anticipated show, Scam 1992. The teaser gives glimpses of the edgy story of the scam that rattled the Bombay stock market and the Indian business community with its sheer audacity and monumental scale. Scam 92 tells the story of the biggest stock market scam in India, the stock market scam of 1992, orchestrated by Big Bull Harshad Mehta.
The series is based on Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu’s tell-all book, The Scam. It traces the spectacular rise and crushing fall of Harshad Mehta.
The teaser of Scam 1992 focuses on the two hard-nosed journalists Sucheta Dalal and Debashis Basu who first caught wind of the scam. They relentlessly pursued the lead and unearthed the mega scam that led to the fall of Harshad Mehta. Shreya Dhanwantary and Sharib Hashmi are seen in the teaser as the two journalists respectively.
The teaser does not reveal actor Pratik Gandhi’s look as Harshad Mehta. There are many glimpses of the Big Bull in the one minute teaser, but each of them has him with his back to the camera. It certainly raises our excitement at catching the first glimpse of Pratik Gandhi’s Harshad Mehta look. It is the biggest role snagged by the actor till date.
Scam 92 is produced by Applause Entertainment, the digital content creation company of the Aditya Birla Group. The web series has been directed by well-known director, Hansal Mehta, recipient of the National Award, and prolific creator of thoughtful cinema.
Scam 1992 features Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sharib Hashmi, Rajat Kapoor, Anant Mahadevan, Satish Kaushik, K K Raina and Lalit Parimoo in prominent roles. The teaser does not reveal the release date of Scam 1992.
