After flirting with viewers’ patience for what seems like ages, ZEE5 has finally released the first teaser of Poison 2. Along with the teaser, we also have a release date for the upcoming series. Here’s cool news for all fans of the series — Poison 2 premieres on ZEE5 on 16th October!
Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani’s will mark his digital debut with Poison 2. He headlines the new season of Poison, along with South actress Laxmi Raai as the female protagonist. TV hunk Zain Imam is also a part of the new season of Poison, making it a highly anticipated show for the actor’s numerous fans. Accompanying him are Pooja Chopra, Vin Rana and Asmita Sood in pivotal roles.
The teaser lays bare the web of deceit and deception that Aftab Shivdasani’s character has to surmount, from his close friends too. Zain Imam and Vin Rana play the friends who cheat him from his rightful share in the race course the three friends pool in to buy. He’s deliberately framed in a cheating case and packed off to jail.
Life destroyed, he comes back into the lives of his tormentors to pay them back in their own coin. How he extracts revenge, the ‘poison’ that the series is named for, forms the crux of the story. He doesn’t call it revenge though — returning the favour is more like it.
Poison Season 1 was also based on the same theme – a thirst for revenge. As the core premise of the series franchise says – ‘Revenge acts like Poison for both, the person who desires revenge and the person he takes revenge against.’ Tanuj Virwani, Arbaaz Khan, Riya Sen and Freddy Daruwala starred in Poison Season 1.
Poison 2 has been directed by Vishal Pandya. It premieres on ZEE5 on 16th October.
