Ted Lasso Season 4 has received a new update from Warner Bros. TV. While many fans want the Emmy-winning show to return through the fourth season, the rest believe the main series should not be extended beyond Season 3. Jason Sudeikis plays the protagonist, Ted Lasso, in the show. Many fans believe that the creators have set things up neatly for future seasons, and they may not require Ted at all. Future seasons may continue without Ted’s involvement. And for some fans, this scenario is heartbreaking.
Season 3’s finale was satisfying and emotionally rich in every way, despite the season struggling with pacing issues, extended runtimes of episodes, and problems related to characterisations. The third season was a bit of a letdown compared to the first two seasons. This is why showrunners need to develop Season 4 with extra care if it gets officially greenlighted.
In a recent interview with Variety, the chairwoman of Warner Bros. TV, Channing Dungey, said the following when asked about the possibility of Ted Lasso Season 4.
“I mean, you watched the finale, there’s a little bit of a door that could be kicked back open if need be. I wouldn’t put the period on the end of that sentence just yet. There is still a lot of love for ‘Ted Lasso.’ And I think that there still is a lot of enthusiasm on the part of Apple for ‘Ted Lasso.’ Should the opportunity arise, we’d be excited to jump back in to making more…. There are always conversations that are ongoing, just nothing that’s official.”
Several cast members from Ted Lasso have teased the possibility of Season 4. However, the fourth season must have a strong and compelling storyline to justify its existence.
Ted Lasso is one of the best TV shows to come out of the Apple TV+ streaming platform. It has broken several streaming records. According to a report from Samba, over 870,000 households watched the premiere of Ted Lasso Season 3, highlighting a significant 60% increase from Season 2’s premiere’s viewership, which lured over 546,000 households.
