Telugu actor, Teja Sajja had his Zombie Reddy released earlier this year and bagged a commercial hit. It was one of the earliest releases in the Telugu film industry after the COVID first wave. The actor’s next, Ishq – Not a Love Story release was halted due to the second wave. The movie was supposed to release in April and it was a last-minute postponement for the film.
Meanwhile, the makers are trying to skip the theatrical release of the film and release it directly online. While they are in talks with a couple of OTT platforms, Sun Network halted their plans. Sun Network bagged the satellite and digital rights of the movie. They are not keen on allowing the direct OTT release. They are threatening to pull out of the Satellite rights deal and would also initiate legal proceedings against the production house – Megaa Supergood Films if they go ahead with the plan. So the makers are confused about the way out of this mess.
Ishq: Not A Love Story is the remake of a Malayalam movie with the same title directed by a newcomer, SS Raju. Priya Prakash Varrier who became popular across the country as Wink Girl is the female lead in this movie.
