Following the onset of the Covid pandemic, the Telugu film industry had registered a whole lot of direct to OTT releases. The newest addition to the list is Shakini Dakini, a Telugu-language action comedy film featuring Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles. The film has opted for direct to OTT release. Noted Telugu film producer Suresh Babu had previously confirmed that all his forthcoming projects will be arriving directly on OTT. In accordance, Shakini Dakini, a film that is being produced by Suresh Babu and Sunitha Tati has gone the OTT way. Shakini Dakini’s direct to digital rights were acquired by Netflix. The film is in the final leg of production now and the OTT release date will be announced by Netflix in the due course.
Marking the occasion of Regina’s birthday today, the makers unveiled a new poster featuring Nivetha Thomas and Regina. “Introducing the playful, bickering and troublesome duo @i_nivethathomas and @ReginaCassandra from #SaakiniDaakini !,” the statement from Suresh Productions read.
Shakini Dakini is a Telugu remake of Korean action comedy, Midnight Runners. The Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra starrer is directed by Sudheer Varma of Swamy Ra Ra and Ranarangam fame.
