Director Nandini Reddy is on a high after her latest directorial Oh Baby has opened to overwhelming response from critics besides setting cash-registers ringing at the box office. Leading into the promotions of the movie, the director also took time to talk about her work with web series format and how the web space has a long way to go, especially with regard to Telugu content.
“I had a good time developing content for the format in its initial stages in the Telugu industry. However, we are yet to evolve in terms of developing a narrative and understanding what content would find interest from the audiences. It’s like creators throwing several stones not knowing what their target is,” she had cheekily said.
Going ahead, she says the Hindi entertainment industry is beginning to find its feet across digital platforms, with better understanding of commercial viability and content exploration. “Telugu industry is at least five years behind. We need to explore more interesting characters and premises going forward,” Nandini concluded.
