Here’s for you, a fresh list of new shows/movies that will surely make way to your watchlist:
1. Unsolved Mysteries Season 1: Releasing on the first of July, Unsolved Mysteries is all about paranormal experiences, unsolved crimes and other unexplained mysteries based on real life incidents. This American documentary will release six of its episodes (each episode covering one story) on the first and the rest will follow on a later date.
2. Cursed: Katherine Langford who rose to fame as Hannah Baker (13RW) is back with another show. It is based on a book of the same name and will start streaming on 17th July with 10 episodes. It retells the story of King Arthur from a different perspective, Nimue’s perspective. As seen in the trailer, the line, “What if the sword chooses the queen?” gives you goosebumps too, add it to your watchlist right away!
3. Desparados: Well , if you have already watched the trailer or read the cast, you must know that Nasim Pedrad & Lamorne Morris are reuniting for this movie, releasing on 3rd July. It revolves around how a woman flies all the way to Mexico with her best friends to delete the emails she had sent to her boyfriend in a drunken state, hoping he has not read them yet.
4. Fatal affair: Another dark thriller is coming your way on the 16th of July. This Netflix original stars Nia Long, Omar Epps and Stephen Bishop. In the movie Ellie (played by Nia Long) tries to fix her married life with her husband (played by Stephen Bishop) after crossing paths with an old old who happens to be much more dangerous than she had initially guessed.
5. The babysitter’s club: Ann M Martin’s book will be made into this upcoming show on Netflix, streaming on 3rd July. This reboot will be releasing with 10 episodes depicting friendship and entrepreneurship where a group of young girls start their own babysitiing business. For all those who have read the books earlier, be ready for a wave of nostalgia!
6. Ju-On Origins: In 2000, this Japanese franchise first released and soon received international recognition with remakes that go by the name of The Grudge. Ju-On origins will release six of its episodes on the 3rd July. The story will discover the origins and roots of the spooky incidents. Lesser known fact: It will be based on real life experiences.
7. The Old Guard: Starring Charlie Theron, this movie is coming to you on 10th July. It’s a superhero movie based on a graphic book of the same name. Andy (Charlie) who leads a mercenary squad, recruits a new soldier and they together fight when their secret is exposed to the world.
8. Dark Desire: Oscuro Deseo also known as Dark Desire is a Spanish romance series coming out on 24th July. It’s a tale of a woman who spends a few days away from home and this turns out to be a life changing vacation. It reveals to her certain things that make her feel the need to reconsider the truth.
9. The Hater: Award winning film at Tribeca Film festival by Jan Komasa will now be streaming on Netflix from 6th July (except for its Polish subscribers who will have to wait till March 2021). Its about a law student who takes up a job at a huge but amoral PR company to impress his childhood friend, Gabi. But soon things take a turn and he finds himself acing dirty political campaigns on social media at the cost of humanity.
10. Japan sinks: A delight for anime lovers! Japan Sinks is an adaption a novel and will come out as a ten episode series. Revolving around the survival story of a family after Japan is hit by natural disasters- earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, the series is the most awaited anime and will release on 9th July.
