‘Tender Is The Night’ Adaptation Is In The Works: Soo Hugh To Direct!

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless classic ‘Tender Is The Night’ will soon have a movie adaptation. His ‘The Great Gatsby’ starred actors like Leonardo di Caprio and Toby Mcguire is one of the most popular films ever made and probably this one will be able to keep up the legacy.

F. Scott Fitzgerald is not new to adaptations. A filmmaker like David Fincher had decided to adapt his novella ‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’ into a fine film.

‘Tender Is The Night’ has previously been adapted into a movie in 1962. It was directed by Henry King and starred actors like Jennifer Jones, Jason Robards, Joan Fontaine, Tom Ewell, Cesare Danova, Jill St. John etc.

This classic story of the Jazz age will be told by Soo Hugh. She will write the screenplay and also direct the movie. Soo Hugh is known for previously creating the AppleTV show ‘Pachinko’. The show will be produced by Searchlight, LuckyChap, Putnam Pictures and Margo Klewans’ Moonslinger Productions.

‘Tender Is The Night’ is one of Fitzgerald’s most personal novels. And it deals with themes of instability, alcoholism, bohemianism and frustration of the lost generation. It tells the story of Dick Diver who falls in love with Nicole Warren, an emotionally unstable woman and soon a traveler named Rosemary Hoyt comes there and Nicole starts believing that Dick is attracted to her.

The cast list and other details will be revealed later on.
