Terminator Salvation Helmer to Direct Netflix Film ‘Family Leave’

The in-the-works Netflix movie ‘Family Leave’ starring Jennifer Garner has found its director. The body-swap family comedy film will be directed by none other than veteran filmmaker McG, who will also produce the interesting project.

Besides McG’s exciting inclusion as the Netflix film’s director, the makers have also cast Ed Helms in an important role. The actor-comedian is known for his roles in the popular sitcom ‘The Office’, the ‘Hangover’ film series, ‘We’re the Millers’, and ‘Together Together’, to name a few.

The Netflix film ‘Family Leave’ is based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s highly rated book titled ‘Bedtime for Mommy’. The underlying story of the film ostensibly revolves around the Walker family. Husband Bill Walker (played by Ed Helms) and his wife Jess Walker (played by Jennifer Garner) try their best to keep their family connected. But their lives take an incredibly drastic turn following their chance encounter with an astrologer, after which they wake up to a full body switch. Now, the family must rely on teamwork to do each other’s jobs and team up with some strangers to undo the body switch, leading to an amusing turn of events.

Also, McG is an experienced filmmaker whose directorial filmography comprises some fine titles such as ‘Charlie’s Angels’ and its sequel, ‘Terminator Salvation’, and the ‘Lethal Weapon’ TV series, amongst others. McG’s upcoming directorial projects include the dystopian action-adventure movie ‘Uglies’, and the highly anticipated series adaptation of James Cameron’s hit 1994 spy action flick ‘True Lies’.
