The story of one of the most venerated figures in Judaism and christianity, Testament: The Story of Moses is a newly retold television series
Moses’s story is a little different. It’s a three-part television series that combines commentary with the story of Moses’ journey; it’s not a film. What more should you be aware of regarding it, then? Whether you grew up watching the cartoon film The Prince of Egypt or, if you’re from a younger generation, the Academy Award–winning (for Best Effects) Ten Commandments, which starred Charlton Heston every spring.
The official series summary is as follows:
The three-episode series Testament: The Story of Moses delves into the life of Moses, running along his transformation from a murderer and pariah to a prophet and the liberator of the Hebrew people. Testament deftly combines compelling documentary film with knowledgeable interviews, taking viewers from the banks of the Nile to Mount Sinai to the Red Sea. It reveals Moses’ very personal journey for salvation, which put in motion some of the most memorable and inspirational events found in the Bible, Qur’an, and Torah.”
Testament: Moses’s Story in Cast
Charles Dance, Clarke Peters, and Avi Azulay all contribute to the series’ efforts to bring the story of Moses to life. Azulay, who plays Moses in Testament: The Story of Moses, has previously played in Manayek and East Side. Dance, who is well-known from his days as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, was recently spotted in Rabbit Hole.
On Wednesday, March 27, Testament: The Story of Moses will make its Netflix debut.
